(More customer reviews)As the other reviewer said, this is a Freud bit and that means that it's high quality. There are other good manufacturers...Amama, CMT, Whiteside just to name a few. Their products cost many times what the Chinese imports cost. There's a reason for that...quality control. You haven't lived until you've had a cheap router bit self-destruct when it gets up to speed. Luckily, no one was hurt.
As for this particular bit, I'm currently using it to round off the tops of some maple boards. Using a couple of passes, it's cutting through the wood like proverbial hot knife through butter. With a moderate feed rate, the surface is just about as smooth.
As bits go this one is clearly five star material. It's sharp, precisely made and works. It's doing what it's made for.
Incidentally, I recommend always buying colored bits. Unlike the gray plain metal ones, it's almost impossible to not see these when they're moving.
