(More customer reviews)Bought the FT750T with variable speed a month ago. Does a lot more than trim laminate! Just did a test with some hard maple stock; had a small scrap left and glued to edge of 5/8 plywood. Next morning mounted a well used harbor freight 1/2" trimmer bit on FT750 and set speed to 3. Cut 3/16 x 5/8 in single pass.
Pros Compact well balanced, has a solid well crafted feel, base is excellent for laminate trimming. Variable speed has good range, low to no vibration.
Cons: Base is finicky when adjusting for depth, clamp and adjusting screw tend to bind (solid once set and locked). Case is cheap blow molded black plastic. Instruction manual is quite brief and does not mention the variable speed adjustment. Instruction manual shows accesories but not where to get them such as; FT1010 a full size router plunger base the FT750T router motor fits into. Purchase this at Amazon.com, it is not even listed at Freud's website.
Overall: good value, performs well as laminate trimmer but the documentation is lacking
